The LCR
Honda MotoGP Team is pleased to announce its renewed relationship with French rider Randy de Puniet and Honda HRC for the 2010 MotoGP Championship. De Puniet will ride with LCR Team colors once again in the premier class for the third consecutive season with the support of the Japanese Constructor which has renewed their cooperation with the LCR Team and its Manager Lucio Cecchinello for the fifth consecutive year.
The agreement between the former 125cc rider has been set today in Paris and includes de Puniet’s participation to the next 2010 MotoGP championship aboard the Honda RC212V. The 28-year-old French rider, who is currently ninth in the MotoGP world standings, has decided to "stay with the family" riding with LCR for the fifth season (he rode the LCR Aprilia 250cc bike on 2003 and 2004 and LCR Honda RC212V on 2008 and 2009) becoming the most faithful LCR rider ahead of Casey Stoner (4 seasons) and Noboru Ueda (3 seasons).
Lucio Cecchinello: Team Manager : "We are very happy to work with Randy next year. He still has a lot of potential and our aim was to continue the project we started together in MotoGP in 2008. Honestly I am very confident of what we can achieve in 2010: we will work with the same style and with the same determination to make a step up in the quality of our organization and our on-track performances".
Randy de Puniet: Rider: "The 2010 season will be my fifth year in the MotoGP class; Honda is working hard to improve the RCV machine and the LCR Team is very professional and they are like a family for me. We have got the potential to make positive results and we will try again!"
