Young to Race Donington World Superbike

Tuesday, June 23, 2009
Team Suzuki Alstare Brux is giving talented American Blake Young a ride on Max Neukirchner's GSX-R1000 K9 at the British World Superbike ninth round at Donington Park this weekend.

Blake Young - American Superbike Race 1 Road America 2009
Blake Young currently sits eighth in American Superbike but will be given a go in the British round of World Superbike.
With Neukirchner still sidelined through injury, Team Manager Francis Batta has decided to give the 21-year old a no-pressure ride at the East Midlands circuit after discussions with Young and former World Champion Kevin Schwantz.

Young, from Wisconsin, is riding the Rockstar Makita Suzuki Factory Racing GSX-R1000 Suzuki in this year's AMA championship; has taken two podiums to date; and currently lies in eighth position behind team mate and sereies leader Mat Mladin.

He will join regular Suzuki Alstare Brux rider Yukio Kagayama, who is carrying on racing despite broken bones in his right heel; the gritty Japanese rider has already defied the pain to race in America and Misano and is determined as ever to battle for the podium.

Blake Young:

"I'm really excited to race the Suzuki Alstare Brux GSX-R1000 at Donington Park this weekend. I've been racing motorcycles for as long as I can remember. I always wanted to race Superbikes and I got the chance to do that with the Rockstar Makita Suzuki team in America. Now, getting the opportunity to do a World Superbike race with the Suzuki Alstare Brux team in Europe is like a dream come true. I'm looking forward to it and want to make the most of this opportunity."

Yukio Kagayama:

"For me, once I am on the bike I am a racer and I forget my injuries. I have many fans in England and I want to put on a good show for them and do well. Of course, this championship is not so easy and this year is much more competitive than last year. I hope the weather will be better in Donington than Misano and the results will also be better than last year."

He will make top 10...Those Brux Zooks are competitive for sure (better than the Makita Bikes), they have just had bad luck this year with their riders. Neukirchner will be a podium regular next year to contend...Neuk will probably have better results than Haga if he can stay healthy. Spies...man, that guy is an animal! There are MANY races left, I have money on him taking the championship this year...

Have you've been watching AMA lately. This Blake Young guy is been finishing top 5 last few races. I beleived he scored 2nd spot twice already this season. You say this guy is "Lousy", dude...BLAKE HAS BEATEN Aaron Yates, Tommy Hayden, Larry Pegram and yes the GREAT BEN BOSTROM this season with AMA SBK. I don't even think he will get lapped at WSBK. I actually think he will give Hacking (another fill in rider)a run for his money and best beleive Blake will go balls out for this oppotunity of a lifetime. Dude, I dont think he is lousy at all. If all goes well for him in Donington, he mey probably finish top 15. But we need to keep in mind, Blake would be on a bike that is set for Neukirchner. He has little or even nothing to say on how the bike is set up. That is just how it goes if your a fill in Rider. YO BLAKE if you can read this, JUST PUT YOUR HEAD DOWN AND LAY SOME SERIOUS RUBBER AT THE TRACK. GOOD LUCK DUDE !!!

Blake Young is making Tommy Hayden look bad in GMD/AMA Superbike. Let's see what the upstart can do over in Europe. I've been watching him the last couple years and see why Rockstar Suzuki has given him a chance as a top rider. This kid seems to have no fear.

Blake Young gets a ride in Donington???!!! Young is lousy and will be completely out of his league. He doesn't even deserve a factory ride in America. I just hope he stays out of Spies way when he gets lapped.
