Aleix Espargaro is yet another Spanish rider in the Grand Prix ranks. He won his first national title in 2004 in the 125 Spanish Championship. Since then, Espargaro has campaigned for Honda in the 125 series and Aprilia in the 250 class. Espargaro made his MotoGP debut in 2009, getting tapped out to fill the vacated seat of Pramac Racing’s Mika Kallio.

Though his overall results are without major accomplishment, recently the Spaniard has seen work as a development rider for the new Moto2 class. In 2010 the Spaniard finished 14th in MotoGP, earning eighth-place finishes at Mugello and Phillip Island.

After failing to land a ride for 2011, Espargaro will race in the Moto2 series. The Spaniard has signed with Pons Kalex and will join new teammate, Axel Pons.
