Ricky Carmichael's No. 4 NASCAR truck
"I think we definitely could have finished in the top five without a question, but we had that loose wheel right there toward the end of the race and it was all I could do to hang on to it."
Ricky Carmichael will make his fifth career start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) this Saturday at Kansas Speedway in the O’Reilly Auto Parts 250. He has two top-10 starts and a career-best finish of eighth at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif. in the series so far this season.

In the history of the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA), no other rider has won as many championships (15) and races (150) as Carmichael, earning him the nickname the GOAT (Greatest of All-Time). Carmichael was a record five-time AMA “Rider of the Year.”

Ricky Carmichael Quotes: “Oh man, each race weekend is like a new movie for me. Your friends can see it and tell you about it, but until you see it yourself, you don’t get anything near the full experience of being there. Every new track we race is a learning experience for me.

“I’m excited to get to Kansas and get on track. They say it’s similar to the Chicago (Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, IL) track, and we had a great test session there last year. KHI (Kevin Harvick Inc.) really dominated the race last year at Kansas, so I expect we’ll be good again.”

Carmichael 17th in ARCA race at Rockingham: Ricky Carmichael started from the fourth position Sunday in the ARCA RE/MAX Series Carolina 200 at Rockingham (N.C.) Speedway and ran consistently in the top 10 before making a late-race pit stop for four tires and fuel after a loose wheel was discovered on the No. 33 Charter Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS, relegating him to a 17th-place finish.

“We really had a good car, a really fast car,” Carmichael said. “I think we definitely could have finished in the top five without a question, but we had that loose wheel right there toward the end of the race and it was all I could do to hang on to it. The crew guys did an awesome job in the pits and had great stops, so I want to thank them for all their hard work.”

The No. 4 KHI All-Stars team is led by crew chief Billy Wilburn, a veteran of many years in the NASCAR Sprint Cup series.
