Glen Helen Motocross Fan Fest Activities

Just a week and a half remains until the season-opening race of the 2009 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championships. Round one, the 14th Annual South Point Hotel & Casino Motocross National, will take place on Saturday, May 23 in San Bernardino, Calif., at famous Glen Helen Raceway.

Gates for the South Point Hotel & Casino Motocross National open to the public at 8 a.m. on May 23, followed by on-track festivities at 8:30 a.m. with practice and qualifying for the 450 Class, 250 Class, and the brand new WMA Class. Opening ceremonies celebrate the official start of the 2009 season at 12:30 p.m. with final motos for all three classes beginning at 12:50 p.m.

Prior to the excitement of race day on Saturday, Glen Helen will host the inaugural Monster Energy® Fan Fest on Friday, May 22. Fan Fest allows motocross fans the chance to get up close and personal with some of the sport's top riders as well the chance to meet the Legends and Hero's of the past, including Gary Jones, Doug Dubach, Chuck Sun, David Bailey, and Broc Glover.

Monster Energy® Fan Fest officially kicks off at 4 p.m. and concludes at 6 p.m., but early attendees can catch a glimpse of the world's best riders on-track during an exclusive one hour riding session from 3-4 p.m. The stars of the 450, 250, and WMA classes will all be logging laps in preparation for Saturday's big event. Autograph signings and live interviews will follow throughout the pit area from 4-5 p.m.

In addition, fans can witness hill climbing legends Robbie and Brett Peterson, who will provide a nitro-fueled hill climb demonstration up Mount St. Helen. There will also be a large display of vintage motocross bikes as well as a number of other attractions and vendors.

Tickets are available are available at the Glen Helen box office, or online at www.glenhelen.com. Wednesday-Saturday General Admission: $45, children ages 6-12 for $30, children 5 and under free. Saturday General Admission: $35, children ages 6-12 for $25, children 5 and under free. Additional options can be found online.
