Fiolek Dominates Round One!

A gorgeous sunny afternoon officially kicked off the first round of the 2009 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, California.

Ashley Fiolek dominated the field early in the Women’s Class Moto#1 as she easily grabbed the MotorcycleUSA.com holeshot award. The notoriously difficult Glen Helen track did not phase Ashley’s determination to defend her title as she landed first place. Kawasaki rider Sara Price followed Ashley’s lead of 11.347 seconds resulting in a second place finish. 2007 WMA Champion Jessica Patterson demonstrated she’s intent on reclaiming the championship title as she finished third in Moto#1.

As Moto#2 began, Ashley Fiolek once again grabbed an early lead and claimed the second MotorcycleUSA.com Holeshot award. Fiolek continued her assault throughout the race and would finish first, earning a nice point lead as she heads north to Hangtown, CA. Jessica Patterson stepped it up in Moto#2 finishing second followed by Suzuki rider Sherri Cruse.
