Rockstar Makita Suzuki has reported that AMA Motocross Championship points leading rider Mike Alessi  suffered a broken kneecap while practicing in Pennsylvania yesterday. Mike Alessi underwent successful left knee surgery this morning.

"There was no other damage to the knee beyond the broken kneecap," said Team Manager Roger DeCoster. "The outlook is better than expected as we thought he was out for the year. It appears now that there's a good chance he will be able to get back out there racing before the end of this season."

Alessi's condition and prognosis will be updated as more information becomes available.

Most races do not wear knee pads they wear EVS knee braces which are a lot better. Will Mike ever get a break is more the question. I always go for people that most are not sure of I love the way he holeshots and he has started getting the endurance to run up top like most of us knew he could . Hope he gets well and has a quick recovery.
