Harley-Davidson has unveiled the second phase of its Dark Customs campaign to coincide with the opening of Season 5 of FX’s wildly popular Sons of Anarchy. Motorcycle-USA was on hand for the red carpet premiere of the event in Los Angeles to check out the first episode along with a few Harleys that will be on the show. This installment of the campaign is called United by Independents and features #StereoTypicalHarley riders from Harley-Davidson’s Facebook App “Fan Machine” that were casted on Twitter worldwide. The resulting 60-second commercial features 18 real world riders and made its debut during the first episode of SOA Season 5.

The United by Independents campaign runs through November 19, 2012 and includes the opportunity for fans to win a personally customized Harley-Davidson Street Bob and a visit to the LA set of Sons of Anarchy. HD and SOA fans just need to visit the contest’s dedicated site at www.h-d.com/SOA and tell Harley-Davidson which cast member they would like to ride with and where they would go. Afterward they can design their dream Street Bob.

Not only is Harley-Davidson featuring the Street Bob through the Ultimate Sons of Anarchy Experience, but several bikes featuring Hard Candy Custom paint will make appearances on the show as well. Hard Candy Custom is the star of H-D’s 2013 line. It’s a new custom color option available on select motorcycles such as the Street Bob. This metal flake paint option is heavy rooted in the 60s and 70s era of choppers. Customers can even build their own Hard Candy Custom Street Bob using the H-D1 Factory Customization program and have it delivered within a month.

Sons of Anarchy airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on FX Network.
