BMW Motorrad has claimed its best-ever August sales figures, with the German manufacturer delivering 7400 units for the month. The August totals are offset by a slight 2% decrease in year-to-date sales. Italian subsidiary brand Husqvarna continues to enjoy robust 2012 sales, growing 29% compared to 2011.
The propeller brand’s 2012 total through August is 76,729 units. While a slight decrease compared to the same period in 2011, the company is on track to again crest 100,000 annual motorcycle sales. Last year represented BMW Motorrad’s best year to date, with 104,286.
Announcing its Q2 financial results at the end of July, BMW registered slight declines in the second quarter, while Husqvarna enjoyed 48.3% increase. The European market struggled most, though the company anticipates European sales stabilizing with the delivery of its new maxi-scooter models.
