The VMAX and Rocket III Roadster dyno charts exhibit the different characters of the two powerplants, with the Triumph's curves very much in the cruiser vein.

Rocket 3 is a capable bike to beat V-max ,but not in stock form.
My dyno result is 171 bhp and 240 nm (approx.170 ft.lb?) from real-wheel. My friends can´t cope with that with their hayabusa or kawasaki 1400.From 0-100 mph in approx.5 seconds.Eat that,V-max.

As a Harley owner I should be pissed because HD doesn't make a bike that even comes close to either bike. But on the other hand I have to say that some of the comments about any model of the Rocket III beating a Vmax is just wishful thinking on their part. In my motorcycle club of 250+ members we have more then a dozen Triumph riders and most of them ride Rockets. We have about 30 Star riders and only one rides a stock Vmax. I've seen the Rocket guys drag the Max off the line on more then once and never, ever, come even within a half a dozen bike links. As one rocket guy admits,"The reason I got beat is simple. The Rocket's motor works like a diesel truck, loads of torque with a short rev range. This is why you don't see diesels sports cars a lot."

I agree with Jay. Never seen dyno numbers that low for a Rocket. This seems to be from the Touring version. They did not dynoed the Roadster here...
Just a correction. According to Triumph's website:
Touring has a claimed (crank) 105 HP at 6000 rpm and 150 ft.lb at 2500 rpm.
Roadster has a claimed (crank) 146 hp at 5750 rpm and 163 ft.lb at 2750.
Standard Rocket III's (crank) 140 hp at 6000 rpm and 147 ft.lb at 2500 rpm.

These are rear-wheel dyno readings, not crank dyno readings.

this is a load of BS by someone obviously trying to pitch a VMAX.... the rocket roadster has a remapped ECU like the original rocket. producing 160 torque @ 2500 rpm and 150 HP stock. 114 is the horse power output of the Tour model (which also has 160 torque @2500 rpm) and 131 torque is a bullshit number they pulled out their ass... none of the stock rockets (any sub model of any year) have torque that low. this is total and complete bulls**t. a rocket will eat a VMAX's lunch. the only thing you can say about the VMAX is .. it is lighter. with the compression ratio of 8:1 on the rocket and change the pistons... hang a stage 2 TTS supercharger on it... and you will be pushing over 400 hp. now can your tiny VMAX do that? i call bulls**t. if you really had a rocket on the dyno... try running through all five gears. the first two are limited to keep you from killing yourself.
