Ducati Monster Art Club Contest
Duacti Monster owners interested in giving their motorcycle a new look should get the Monster Kit and see what creative spin they can come up with for the iconic bike.
Expressing your creativity by selecting a different colored paint job is the basis for the Monster Art Club Contest, an art competition organized by Ducati to evaluate and reward the talents of the Desmo Owners Clubs, a large slice of the Ducati Community who share a desmodromic passion and who will know how to best interpret the unique and distinctive Monster.

The competition involves the free personalization of a Monster “kit," composed of two tank covers, a front mudguard, screen and seat cover, provided directly by Ducati to all those participants who are asked to express their own personality, their own life-style, or a different version of reality by utilizing any technique necessary and a fundamental ingredient: color.

The completed Monster Kit should be mounted on a Monster 696 or Monster 1100. Each participant has the chance to upload his/her photograph and a video of the work being entered into the competition until October 31, 2009.

Voting has been taking place since September 2nd and will continue until October 31st. The jury is made up of all visitors to the site who can vote anonymously and only once by following the instructions on the site.

The final decision will be taken between November 2nd and November 5th and will be made by a jury composed of Ducati representatives, selected from within the departments that contributed to the realization of the Monster and Monster Art projects.

Visit the Ducati site to keep an eye on the competition’s progress. Prizes on offer include:

1st prize: “Binda” Ducati One watch
2nd prize: “Tumi” Ducati trolley bag
3rd prize: “Onda” Ducati Corse USB modem

Fourth to tenth place prize: Ducati Corse bathrobe

In addition, the technical jury will award an extra special prize to one of the ten winners: an original Monster sketch signed by the Ducati team responsible for the project.

Monster Art stems from the free expression of artistic and creative development that is palpable throughout the Monster world. The launch of this Ducati icon was responsible for creating a new market segment, a new philosophy for the motorcycling world.

“Color Therapy” was the first chapter. With Color Therapy, Ducati, in addition to the colors currently available (pearl white, Ducati red or dark black), proposes ten more shades for the Monster 696, from GP Red and Scrambler Orange to Glamour Lilac and Pure Gold.

I guess if you can't build a good looking bike, then offer them in colors that attract the colorblind.
