Ducati brass accept the Best in Show appellation for the 2010 Ducati Multistrada at the 2009 EICMA Milan Bike Show.
Anticipation of Ducati’s Multistrada made, arguably, the biggest splash in the media running up to the 2009 Milan Bike Show. Now the perception is confirmed by the new Duc winning Best in Show at the EICMA event.
The Best in Show competition takes place each year and is determined via survey form at the show or online, with the Italian magazine “Motociclismo” organizing the proceedings. More than 20,000 response are claimed to have been tallied, with the Multistrada garnering almost half the votes ahead of the MV Agusta F4 and Aprilia RSV4.
Ducati is understandably pleased with the decision, dutifully sending out a flowery PR announcing the victory. Saying of the Best in Show appellation :
“The new Ducati Multistrada 1200 thus reigns supreme. Not just a new bike, but a new concept of bike. From the moment the EICMA show opened, the area of the Ducati stand dedicated to this innovative machine was flooded with a constant tide of visitors, all eager to see the new product, the pride of the Italian motorcycle industry.”

Best in Show again? Make it three in a row for Ducati.
It’s not Ducati’s first best in show, as the Italian marque won last year with its Streetfighter, and the year before that with its Hypermotard… Hmm, maybe an Italian home field advantage for the Bologna boys here.
Judging purely from reader feedback and traffic popularity of the
BMW Concept 6 first look on our site, you’d thing the Beemer might have placed a little higher on the list.
