The Hypermotard 796 comes in three colorways: Dark; White; Red.
Ducati's Hypermotard 796. Available in three colors and hitting dealerships now.
The entry-level Ducati Hypermotard 796 will be hitting dealerships in time for the holiday season. MotoUSA’s Road Test Editor Adam Waheed had a chance to throw a leg over the new streetfighter/Supermoto machine a couple months back in Italy and came away impressed, especially considering its low cost. Cupertino, Calif. – Ducati North America announced today that the highly-anticipated Hypermotard 796’s are in transit to dealerships across the country, just in time for the holiday season.

Beginning this weekend, the Hypermotard 796 will be available to the public at all authorized Ducati dealerships. Developed using weight saving technologies from Ducati’s racing machines, the Hypermotard 796 includes a light action slipper-type clutch and top shelf components establishing it as the ‘must-have’ bike for the 2010 riding season.

Perfect for dicing through the daily commute or attacking the open roads, the 796 flawlessly balances Ducati’s unrivaled twin-cylinder power, 81hp and sportbike heredity with the lightweight and minimalist Supermotard concept.

Available color selections include Ducati red, matte black and white. MSRP for the Hypermotard 796 will be $9,995, a true bargain for a handmade Italian motorcycle.

These bikes are sick. I just wish this bike and it's larger sibling were friendly to short, inseam-challenged riders like myself.

I agree, Ducatis are expensive, but it's supply and demand. A Ducati may never touch a Honda in terms of reliablity, but it will kill it in terms of personality and sex appeal.

I believe the boots are Alpinestars Nero Articolo 80 Sportivo

The 796 is a cool bike no doubt, but $10k is not really a bargain. Dealerships here in the Midwest are selling CBR1000RR's for $7,000 and you can bet the quality and reliability of a robot assembled Honda will be light-years ahead of the "handmade Italian motorcycle".
