Honda units sales held steady in 2009 thanks to growth in the Asia/Oceania region, with more than 15 million sales world wide for 2009.
Honda motorcycle sales and production figures show steady numbers for global operations, with significant drops in North America. World wide motorcycle/ATV unit sales showed virtually no change, with 15,042,000 sales only 1% off the 2008 tally of 15,124,000. The North American figure, which includes Mexico, shows a 48% decline, from 391,000 to 204,000.

The Asia and Oceania region, which includes India, the world’s second-largest motorcycle market, posted 6% gains. Total 2009 Asia/Oceania sales topped 11,702,000, up 648,000 from 2008 totals. The 2009 sales growth in Asia/Oceania more than tripling the total 2009 sales in North America, and bolstering Honda’s unit sales overall.

Other key markets include a 4% drop in China (1,303,000 to 1,354,000), 26% decline in Europe/Middle East/Africa and 19% wane in South American sales. Honda’s domestic Japanese market also posted a drop in sales of 27%.

Global production held fairly steady, with a 4% drop in units – 14,823,000 in 2009 down from 15,392,000 in 2008. Overseas production declined 3% with the domestic production slashed 55%, down from 354,000 to 195,000.

You forgot the -1 part of your percent change calculations (i.e. the total percent change should be -1 not +99)...
