Honda Crosstourer Spied Testing in Europe

Hondas expected adventure-touring mount the Crosstourer spied testing on European roads.
Honda's expected adventure-touring mount, the V-Four-powered Crosstourer, was spied testing in Europe last week.
Honda’s expected 1200 adventure-touring platform was spied testing in Europe this past week. Pics of a camouflaged prototype appear to be none other than the V-Four-powered Honda Crosstourer, one of the headlining concept models debuted by Big Red at November’s EICMA Milan Bike Show.

Honda revealed a pair of “cross”-monikered concepts at Milan, including the 782cc V-Four-powered Crossrunner alongside the larger-displacement Crosstourer. At the time of its debut, Honda confirmed the latter model would share the 1237cc V-Four found in the VFR1200F.

The Crosstourer represents Honda’s stab at the 1200 adventure-touring class, once owned entirely by BMW’s 1200GS and now crowded with a bevy of AT models from various manufacturers.

While stripped of the large panniers adorning the concept model, the spy shot appears to be the Crosstourer model, as evidenced by the wire-spoked wheels. The spy photo source, Brenda Priddy & Company, notes the AT model appeared to source the same dual-clutch transmission adorning the other two Honda prototypes. No official word on this model’s production status, though the smaller-displacement Crossrunner is being promoted in Honda’s European markets. Riders can already book a test ride on the Honda U.K. site where the ‘Runner retails for £9075.

Doc...silly ol Doc. They do that to conceal the actual fine details of the bike so when we get these shots they are ugly as sin. I assume you could get the same look for a small amount of elbow grease...

Are they going to come from the factory with that duct-tape-and-trash-bag cosmetic treatment?
