Dave Spafford - My T-bird  January 23, 2010 12:38 PM
Got the 3rd thunderbird in New England.... LOVE this bike. Had a Vstar 1100 in the past and traded in my 08 Triumph ST for the Tbird last summer. The seat's comfy, plenty of power, great looks. Wish the exhaust wasn't so trumpet-like in looks, but hey- if that's the only thing... IF you get one, MAKE SURE you have the thermostat housing checked for leaks. All the owners I've met have had this issue. The bolts tend to be loose there too, but after getting that issue squared, even my Harley friends admit that the bike's awesome. I'm 5'7" and I fit very well on it. I like how the bike isn't very long- the parallel twin helps that, so turning and maneuvering low speed is relatively easy. I highly recommend this bike. I hope the quality's good long term. I wish there was an aftermarket source for accessories.
Munchkin - Been needing a new Bike  December 28, 2009 10:53 AM
My guy's gotta a Triumph Speedmaster and he has been wanting to go bigger. We have looked at so many Harleys and each time I talk him out of it. I really love our Triumph. I know we need a bigger bike and now we can stay in the Triumph family!! Like I keep telling him.... We don't need no stinking Harley!! Harleys seem to be a dime a dozen, everybody has one. We are the only ones in our area with a Triumph and everyone loves it. We are always getting comments on it and a few weeks ago, we actually outran 3 crotch-rockets. When they finally caught up to us at the redlight, their leader said, "Damn, that bike is fast!" And that was with both of us on it! God, I love our Triumph! Thanks!

I was looking for a Harley Davidson for ages and the more i looked the more my budget had to grow. Harley's Arent cheap her in Western Australia. I finally capped my spending at $25,000 and all i could find in Harley land was either older bike that were rebuilt or newish bikes with high kilometers. So i popped in to see my uncle at JCS Motorcycle which is a Triumph Dealer to see if he had any trade ins available. That was when i met the THUNDERBIRD and it was love at first ride. After taking the T-Bird up the freeway for a spin I instantly loved the way it went, the way it turned at slow and fast speed and the way it stopped. It looks so tough too. I orded one and got them to order me the T-Bars and the short mufflers. I ordered it at the end of october and was told i would have to wait until january but i got a phone call last week and they had one there for me. Ive been riding around town with a smile from ear to ear now for nearly a week. I get a heap of attention from people who see the triumph badge but don't know what it is. Apparently there is only about a dozen in the state at the moment so rock on cause i've got one..........

Steven - My 2010 Thunderbird  November 1, 2009 06:41 AM
Bought my 2010 T-bird as a birthday present for myself in September ('09). Absolutely love it. My other ride is a 2000 Thunderbird Legend. The Legend feels small after riding the new T-Bird. The new T-Bird is the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden and I'm 5'7" 185lbs. Suspension is a little stiff but it makes the handling that much better. I can lean it over farther than my 1991 Electraglide Sport, and the torque is instantaneous and plentiful. I worked in a motorcycle shop for the last 3 years and the only bike I have ridden with more response has been the Rocket III. I am sure that some of the larger Japanese V-Twins and modifide Harleys have more power on the Dyno, but on the road, the gearing, six speed transmission and all that torque make the T-Bird one smooth, quick cruiser with great gas mileage to boot. I have the sissy bar and back rest along with the saddlebags installed and just need the time to take a long trip. The wife says that the passenger seat is hard after just a little while, but the rider's seat is fine with me. It feels hard at first, but after a few miles I don't notice it and the ride is very comfortable. The belt drive delivers the power smoothly and doesn't need lubrication or adjusting. Fuel injection and great gas mileage make for a simple turn key operation. Turn the key and ride, no muss no fuss. I love the T-Bird and I get lots of comments from the other bikers that I meet. I would recommend the T-Bird to anyone considering a full size cruiser, and the price is more in line with the Japanese cruisers than the American ones.

Mix Fillings, Did not like how it shifted at all. very clunkly. I'm a smaller man. 5'7" felt confortable in the saddle. Handle bars could be set back 2 to 3 inches more for my tast. the wide stance handle bars made it diffacult to make low speed turns. power is great. very quick. did notice power was smooth through out power curve.I wish it had more high end tork.I owned 72 tiger years ago and love it. been riding custom sporster for years.( 2001 - 63,000 miles) spent more in repair than i did for the bike new.can not go that rout again, hope this bike is more owner friendly.truth is i think i'm going to look hard at some oher modles. maybe the American triumph.keeping it real. it's just my personal opinion, ever one has one. i would love to here from someone, who ownes one and has some miles on the bike.
Randall P - It's a gooood ride  August 8, 2009 11:21 AM
Triumph scored a winner as far as handling and torque. Test rode it 8/6/09 thru twisties, straights and city traffic. Felt safe and in control at all times. The brakes can handle anything you throw at it. Fast and powerful. You can actually feel the big twin thump if you grab the throttle hard. I ride a Triumph Speedmaster, and this TBird will be it's replacement.

Bob - Triumph has a winner  July 9, 2009 04:43 PM
Popped into my local Triumph dealers today and bumped into the local RAT leader. He showed me the Thunderbird and first impressions was WOW!(I'm not into cruisers but ride a Sprint). The bike looks great and sitting on it, I could quite easily become a cruiser fan :-) The RAT leader had taken it out for a long ride (he's also not into cruisers). I asked his thoughts on it and was VERY surprised when he said he loved it and was thinking about buying one! (his bikes are a Tiger and a Sprint). He reported lots of torque and it took the corners well. Gear changes were smooth and the sitting position was well thought out plus, your legs are not pushed forward too much. Now if I can just talk the wife into letting me buy one.....

i like the less dressing of the video, i dont like harley style video reviews with big bad tree hugging crap and talk about wind blowing, hey the wind blows when you are broken down and when your bike is in for exspensive repairs-- useful reviews have mpgs and performance in them. comfort of seats and excelleration numbers. how the bike handles. i.e is she a dog , does she move her ass, is she limber and is there value for the dollars asked. peg and seating arrangments, add on's like sissy bars or peg kits. "motorcycle people go to a bikeshop to buy a bike and sear for tv's and stereo's", ease and access to parts for home maintenence. many people who started riding in childhood dont need to have the mood set,or to spend our time repairing our harley, nor do i want a japanese harley impression.japan makes great bike's dont get me wrong, but i do like a bike with some history and a class look plus reliability. i like cruisers for the weekend run and the daily commute to work , post office , store and coffee shop and the once in a while jot across the country when i damb well feel like it. so i look for bike companies that say what they mean and mean what they say,i dont like the wind in you hair hype to sell an overated heap of bad design ,i ride for the thrill-my concern, you just build the bike- your convern -i can wait to get my hands on the new triumph.
