Motorcycle-USA is taking in Round 6 of the 2009 AMA Pro Road Racing Series from the saddle of a Harley-Davidson Electra Glide motorcycle at Road America.
It’s early June and for folks in the Midwest that can only be one thing: Road America time. Motorcycle-USA is in the cradle of the American heartland; The home of cheese, beer, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and, of course friendly people. The kind that actually wave at you and let you if there’s cops hiding out up the road. That’s right we’re in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin for Round 6 of the 2009 AMA Pro Road Racing series.
We’re going to be onsite covering the motorcycle road races and experiencing Wisconsin’s laid back scene the way it was meant to be—in the saddle of a 2009 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic Electra Glide motorcycle. And after a day riding around eastern Wisconsin we’re certainly impressed with not only the areas summer time beauty but the prowess of the motorcycle.
Not only does its 1573cc Twin Cam engine have a decent amount of get up and go it will surprise you with how quick you can hustle it through the corners. Granted we’re not dicing Southern California’s switchbacks, yet within the Kettle Moraine State Forest, in which we spent some time today, there are sections of roadway that can be challenging. Even better perhaps is the lavish creature comforts that the Electra Glide offers, allowing the rider to take in the scenery within the motorized comforts of the most comfortable seat you’ll probably ever sit in.
Over the weekend were going to be camped out inside the track to bring you onsite race reports and photos from this one of a kind Midwest motorcycle race.
