Southern California’s Milestone Motocross Park in Riverside, California was invaded by Red Bull and 2009 Supercross champion James Stewart today for a fan appreciation ride day. The event which was open to the dirt bike riding public began at 8:00 a.m. and ran until mid-afternoon.
 
And the fans came, hundreds of them, transforming the tracks wide open expanse into a sea of colorful riders along with their families. In fact, I’ve never seen a track as packed on a non-race weekend—it was awesome!  A few hundred people also received a limited edition Stewart t-shirt plus all four of Milestone’s beautifully prepped tracks (main, vet, intermediate and pee-wee) were open and staffed by a small army of flaggers in order to keep everybody safe.
 
Being it was his ride day, Stewart put in some laps along with fans aboard his Yamaha dirt bike. In between riding sessions Stewart hung out signing autographs, jerseys, googles and literally anything you put in front of him—happily. No joke the dude was smiling ear to ear all day. I guess you would be too if you were riding with a few hundred of your pals.
 
Some of Stewart’s other sponsors including Alpinestars, Answer Racing, and Bell Helmets were also showing love and interacting with riders displaying some of their newest stuff including Alpinestars new Bionic Neck Support. Look for a full review in the coming weeks.
 
Lunch and all the Red Bulls you could guzzle were provided to all and despite the tracks being crowded at times, there was still plenty of time to sneak in some uncluttered laps. In fact after lunch the big track was almost totally empty while everyone was trying to catch some face time with Stewart.
