MotoUSA Live in Indianapolis

MotoUSA's live from Indianapolis Motor Speedway site of the 2009 Red Bull Indianapolis GP.
Greetings friends, it’s your binary motorcycling pal Adam here. I just landed in Indianapolis, the site of the second and last U.S. MotoGP race, the 2009 Red Bull Indianapolis GP. Things here seem to be pretty quiet at the moment. As I walked off the plane and through Indianapolis’ brand spanking new airport it almost felt like we were in the wrong city… That is until I arrived downstairs at baggage claim where I was greeted by some friendly Red Bull peeps with fists full of extra delicious ice cold Red Bull cola.
On final approach we flew right next to Indianapolis Motor Speedway. And as you can tell from this aerial shot the place is huge! Flying over it made me think how crazy it is for a racetrack to be fully integrated into the city. Sure it’s common in Italy and other parts of Europe, but for America it’s rare you’ll find a racetrack right smack dab in the middle of a metropolitan area. If only we had one of these, say, in Irvine, California.
Something else that surprised me was how proud two local residents I sat next to on the plane were in regards to their city. The entire time they couldn’t stop talking about all the things to do, the places to see, bars to party at, etc, etc. You could tell that these guys really take pride in all things Indianapolis, including its crown jewel, the Brickyard.
Over the course of the weekend we’ll be here keeping you in the loop to the happenings both on and off the racetrack. And if you’re coming out to the races, make sure you stop by our booth situated inside Ducati Island within IMS's infield.
