REM Motocross at Glen Helen This Weekend

KTM’s Mike Alessi raced the new KTM 350 SX-F at REM Motocross last weekend at Glen Helen. He’ll be racing again tomorrow.
Tomorrow, the REM Motocross series will be running at Glen Helen Raceway. We raced last weekend aboard Yamaha’s new YZ450F (learn all about this motorcycle in the 2010 Yamaha YZ450F First Ride
review) and the conditions couldn’t have been better!
Not only was the dirt tilled and watered to perfection, Frank and the crew totally revamped the track and added an couple more jumps and an awesome super-technical single-track mountain bike-style section. As usual, Yamaha’s YZ450F continued to amaze us by how incredibly well set-up its chassis is even in bone stock form with nothing else changed aside from the Dunlop Geomax MX51 tires.
KTM’s Mike Alessi was also there and competed in the pro class aboard the all-new KTM
350 SX-F and the bike looks and sounds unbelievable! Joining him was Troy Lee Design’s Wil Hahn and young up and comer Michael Leib. Alessi went on to win both his motos, while Hahn took second in Moto 1 with young gun Leib actually smoking Hahn in Moto 2.
We spoke with Alessi after the race and he said he’ll be racing again this weekend in preparation for the upcoming FIM Motocross Grand Prix happening at Glen Helen in just over a month. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see even more big name pros racing REM this weekend. We’ll most definitely be out there banging bars in the almighty quest to stand atop the podium and pop some champagne! See you there.
