Epic Conditions at Milestone Motocross Park

With the recent wet weather and excellent track prep the riding conditions at Milestone Motocross Park are phenomenal.
Hey all, I just wanted to drop a note about the epic riding conditions at Southern California’s Milestone Motocross Park
. The recent rainy weather together with fantastic prep has transformed this track into dirt biking nirvana.
The consistency of the dirt right now on the main track is unbelievable—nice and soft yet tacky. Plus the track builders have managed to create a layout that works for a wide range of riders. There are two whoops sections, table tops, doubles, and even a few triple jumps. The best part is that all of the jumps are rounded and the downsides are relatively long so you if you come up a little bit short or conversely land far out you don’t have to worry so much about crashing. They also have built small dirt wall ruts on the inside of many of the turns which make it that much easier to rail around the inside line. Another humongous plus is the number of individual tracks offered on the property. It’s the perfect place to bring the family to as there is a track for each and every rider in the family regardless of experience or skill level.
Today I rode our 2010 Yamaha YZ450F
Project Bike that was built by renowned street and sportbike-tuner Yoshimura. Having had minimal experience with its machines in the dirt I didn’t really know what to expect but after accumulating about 5 hours on it in the last few weeks I’m absolutely blown away by its performance as compared to a stock YZ450F. Everything from the engine, drivetrain, handling, suspension, brakes and ergonomics has been improved which in the end makes it way more fun, not to mention easy to ride. Look for our full review next week followed another race test from Glen Helen sometime in November.
