Triumph Daytona 675 and Street Triple Recall

Monday, September 24, 2012
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a recall for the Triumph Daytona 675, model year 2006-2009 as well as for the Triumph Street Triple and Street Triple R, model year 2006-2009. The recall may potentially affect up to 10,366 units.

According to the NHTSA, the “regulator/rectifier can overheat and prevent the motorcycle from charging. Once the battery is fully discharged, the motorcycle may stall.” The risk of a crash and injury increases if the motorcycle stalls unexpectedly.

Triumph will notify owners and dealers will replace the regulator/rectifier free of charge. Owners of the affected models can contact the Triumph service department directly at 1-678-854-2010. Owners can also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 or go to http://www.safercar.gov for more information. The NHTSA's campaign ID number for this recall notice is 12V445000.
