Victory Treats Prospective Buyers Best

Monday, May 17, 2010
Victory Motorcycle dealers lead the entire United States motorcycle industry in customer prospect satisfaction of their shopping experience, according to the 2010 Pied Piper Prospect Satisfaction Index.

Victory Motorcycles
According to an independent study, Victory Motorcycles is No. 1 in 'Customer Prospect Satisfaction' and was rated the most helpful manufacturer when it came to helping out prospective buyers.
The independent study, which sent more than 2000 anonymous “mystery shoppers” into motorcycle dealerships nationwide, used data collected in the field to calculate Prospect Satisfaction Index (PSI) scores for more than a dozen brands. Based on these scores, each brand was ranked on how effectively dealerships helped motorcycle buyers with their shopping experience.

“Our entire organization is obsessed with the rider’s experience,” said Mike Jonikas, Vice President, On-Road Division and Sales & Marketing. “We have always believed that our dealers are among the best in the business. To have this belief confirmed by an independent industry study substantiates that the Victory brand and its dealers continue to fuel the industry’s best experience for riders.”

Additional detail provided by the study shows that Victory dealerships outperformed the entire motorcycle industry when it came to asking and answering questions with customer prospects, communicating Victory’s unique features, and encouraging prospective buyers to actually experience a Victory motorcycle when shopping.

“Victory and our dealers have a shared passion for fueling the experience of our riders”, said Steve Menneto, General Manager of Victory Motorcycles. “It’s why we tested the Victory Cross Country 2.3 million miles before releasing it, and it’s why our dealers are so committed to the rider’s shopping experience. It’s why, for more than a decade, we’ve never stopped fueling the motorcycling experience.”

HDBreeze -Mark C- No dealer fees  July 11, 2010 08:10 AM
Victory does charge for freight and dealer prep, but like everything these days, it's negotiable. When I bought my first new Harley in 1994, the demand was high and I waited 18 months on a waiting list. Obviously, I paid every fee that they could make up. It all worked out though because I kept that bike for 7 years/47,000 miles, and sold it for only $1300 less than what I originally paid for it. The last time I paid the full msrp with all the fees on a new Harley was back in 2001. The last 3 new Harleys that I have bought since then were purchased for less than msrp. My 2007 Springer Classic was priced at $19,450 plus tax, freight and prep. I rode it out the door for $17,200. With so many low mileage used motorcycles and cars, it's not that hard to get those dealer fees waived. There was a Victory/Honda/Triumph/Can Am dealer near me that would not budge or negotiate on their fees and pricing. They were selling bikes like gangbusters for years. They got very cocky and arrogant, and were even charging $99 an hour for service labor. When the ecconomy took a dump, that dealer went downhill fast. They closed the doors 5 months ago. It's hard to believe that there are still any dealers around that would cut off their nose to spite their face.

My experience as a prospective buyer with Victory has not been good. I have owned Harleys for 23+ years, as well as other bikes, and right now I own 7 bikes. After sitting on the Victory Cross Country at the IMC in New York this past January, I was dying to take one for a test ride. I have been thinking of selling my Harley Springer Classic to get something else, so I scheduled a test ride on the Polaris website. My appointment was at Central Jersey Motorsports in South River, New Jersey. Three weeks went by and I had not heard from the dealer, so I called to confirm everything. The sales manager there told me that they don't participate in that Victory program and that they don't allow test rides at all. Even though I had the confirmation email from Victory, it didn't matter. I contacted the general manager via email and I asked who would buy a motorcycle without test riding it first. He responded back that they sell 300+ bikes a year without prior test rides. I thought to myself...maybe that's why there are so many motorcycle related deaths, and why there are so many low mileage "almost new" bikes for sale on eBay and Craigslist? When I contacted Polaris consumer service, they didn't seem to care. They did offer to schedule another test ride for me at another dealer though. Unfortunately, the next closest Victory dealer to my home is 43 miles away. I guess I will just stick with Harley. The dealer that's just 8 miles from my house will allow me to test ride any bike on the showroom floor.

One thing I definatly like about my Victory dealer is there are no extra fees. Msrp & tax is all you pay. The sales guy at HD was bragging that he could keep their dealer fees below $800 =0.

Victory is a class act through and through. When you have such an excellent product, you are excited about it and that comes through in the sales people and staff. It's pride...and I'm a proud owner of a 2010 Cross Country...one of the most swesome bikes on the road today! Congrats to Victory and I hope their successes continue.
