Victory Kingpin in MythBusters Bug vs Biker

Victory Motorcycle used on MythBusters
MythBusters used a 2011 Victory Kingpin equipped with a Motorvation Engineering Spyder sidecar for its Bug Special.
When the team at MythBusters needed a motorcycle and sidecar to test another myth, they called on Victory Motorcycles for the use of a 2011 Kingpin. The motorcycle was mated to a custom Motorvation Engineering Spyder sidecar creating a beautiful and powerful rig ideal for testing a brand new myth: that a bug strike could fatally injure a motorcyclist.

Without revealing any results, we can tell you that the rig came out of the test unscathed, and the MythBusters team had a great time riding the Victory at high speeds on a closed course. For a preview of tonight’s episode, follow the link below.

The “Bug Special” Episode of MythBusters premieres tonight at 9 p.m. (Eastern and Pacific time) on The Discovery Channel. Check your local listings for times specific to your area and for scheduled re-airing dates and times.

OK...that makes sense. lol It sounded more like something Milwaukee Mike would say. Not too many bikes will "perform" well with a freakin side car strapped to them...maybe the Triumph Rocket III or the Kawi 2000, or for that matter a Goldwing 1800.

Its was meant to be funny, lets be honest the Harley nor Victory are performance machines. But before any one else chimes in, I ride a HD road glide but not because it can haul ass but because mine feels good in the seat.

Jay...outside of the screaming beagle and V-Rod...HD's won't keep up with Victories in HP and Torque. The Kingpin can easily go over 100mph...but the addition of the side car...not to mention the added risk to the passenger does not warrant a speed greater than 85. Your'e funny...thinking that a HD was better than a Victory. lol Got my laugh for the day. lol

Kerry on a Victory. Science never looked so good! ;)

I think 85 is the suggested max safe speed with the sidecar attached.

Top speed 85mph should have used a harley at least they can do 105
