This article is so biased. The inaccurate figures completely discredit anything else on this site. Top speed of 30? Cmon. My gas mileage is way better than 70 and I'm 200+ lbs. I also ride this most days to work and it's perfect for it. Speed limits are all 35 or 25 around here and the Ruckus keeps up easily. Yes hills suck, but it's a scooter...not a Ducati. 2 thumbs down for this video.

This article is pretty much crap. They guy must love the plastic chic vespa. The fact that you can store large items (such as a skateboard) beneath the seat is a fantastic thing.. the crappy closed in frames annoy me to no end. As the other comments posted, it goes faster then this article claims and handles exceptionally. Works well for Beach or Urban lifestyles, handles perfectly.. as a woman, I've had no trouble with the size. Gas mileage is a dream.

This video isn't accurate from my perspective. I use my Ruckus to get back and forth to work daily; rain or shine. (This summer it's been mostly rain.) The Ruckus handles exceptionally well and being a new rider it makes me feel secure and safe. My experience has been that acceleration is a little slow and that on flats the Ruckus tops out at about 39 mph, which is ok. Going up hill is a drag as the Ruckus slows to a steady 20 mph. The Ruckus seems to top out at about 45 mph. But what can one expect from a 50cc scooter. I venture to guess that other 50cc scooters perform about the same. The best thing about the Ruckus is the gas mileage. I'm getting 90+ mpg and that makes me very happy. Yes, now that I've been riding for a while and feel more comfortable, I'd like a more powerful scooter. But for what it is the Ruckus is fine for me.

The stock Ruckus easily gets up into the high 30's and tops off around 47mph. For some reason, this review is biased against the Ruckus and is not factual regarding the stats it lists.

Make sure to research before you make your decision on getting one of these. Overfilled oil and under inflated tires will cause the Ruckus to not perform. At 225lbs, I can do over 40 on a stock Ruckus. With $200 in mods, you can achieve 45mph. I'm really puzzled. It is an urban commuter. Hence why I have 6500 miles in less than 1.5 years.
