2010 Yamaha Star VMAX
Yamaha's sporty cruiser the Star Vmax continues in to 2010 with a new Candy Red option.
Star Motorcycles is pleased to announce that the 2010 VMAX will go on sale at Yamaha dealerships beginning today via an exclusive priority delivery customer order program and continue through November 30.

Making its triumphant return to the Star line last season, the all new VMAX has been a hit with the enthusiast motorcycle press and with owners alike. The 2010 Star VMAX features a striking, new Candy Red paint scheme.

The bold, next-generation interpretation of motorcycling’s iconic muscle bike, the reinvented VMAX has at its heart an all-new 1679cc four-valve, DOHC liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine that uses YCC-T fly-by-wire throttle and YCC-I variable intake length technologies, a five-speed transmission with slipper-type clutch, shaft drive and 200/50 R18 rear tire.

Just as innovative, the chassis of the VMAX is an all-new design with a lightweight aluminum frame and swing arm, fully adjustable forks and single rear shock, Brembo®-designed brake master cylinders, wave-type brake rotors, and ABS.

Visually powerful, the engine’s iconic VMAX aluminum intake covers are hand buffed by craftsmen for superb quality and individuality, testament to this bike’s unique stature.

just got my wide wheel kit after waiting for ever! this thing doesn't even match in color or finish! the passenger backrest i bought has a finish that is very poor as well. both aren't made well and are not japanese but chinese parts. i think you get the picture! and to top it all off you need about $1000 in special tools if you do the tire job yourself.

I own a 2010 VMX17 and I urge you not to buy this motorcycle. With more years on more motorcycles then most men have been married, I can truly say this bike is the most unsafe motorcycle I've ever ridden. Rake and rider position make a lethal cocktail if you try to race this bike other then in a strait line. The wide aftermarket tire from Yamaha only amplifies this to its dangerous climax...death. It's to hard to turn at slow speeds even with the stock tire. The stock suspension is too hard as well as it's close gear ratio transmission makes this so called "cruiser" more of a tiring workout then a fun ride. Imagine shifting 4 times before 35mph as you bounce all over the place not being able to turn even slow safely.

I love the new color. Too bad Suzuki killed the B-King so the VMax has one less competitor (maybe the only real competitor?). I hope Yami doesn't give this VMax the same fate as the old one - no updates or improvements, especially now that it has no competition.

It looks like something cobbled together for a movie.

"Exclusive priority delivery customer order program"? The old percieved value tactic, eh? They must not slap a VIN the bike until they get a 20% deposit.

Should tell my local dealership. They are still trying to unload the 09s...

I can imagine offering this bike in metallic white pearl. I ve seen white MT-01, surprisingly to me that bike looks amazing. Still, the red color is nice and fresh.
