2015 Aprilia Tuono V4 R ABS aPRC First Look

Thursday, September 4, 2014
Aprilia has announced improvements for its 2015 Tuono V4R ABS aPRC. The highlight update to the streetfighter standard, which is based off Aprlia’s RSV4 superbike, is claimed power gains for its V-Four engine courtesy of a redesigned exhaust. The 2015 model carries over updates introduced last year, such as Racing ABS, Brembo M432 monobloc radial front calipers, Sachs fork, improved ergos and increased fuel capacity. The revised 2014 Tuono V4R ABS claimed top honors in Motorcycle USA’s Four-Cylinder Streetfighter Shootout this year. During the comparison testers lauded the high-tech streetfighter’s engine performance, ergonomics and electronics package, with it earning the vote of all four riders as the bike they’d most like to have in their garage.

The newly reconfigured exhaust internals are the primary upgrade for 2015 and claim to bump horsepower to an even 170 (up 3 hp) while torque figures are estimated to reach 83.3 lb-ft. Rear wheel dyno figures collected during MotoUSA’s ’14 shootout have the Tuono reaching 76.78 lb-ft and 150.9 horsepower at peak performance.

The 2015 Tuono V4 R ABS retains the Aprilia Performance Ride Control (aPRC) electronics package, which was described by Road Test Editor Adam Waheed as “a level above the competition.” The aPRC suite features eight-setting traction control, three-setting wheelie control, quickshifter and launch control.

Dealerships will see the new Aprilia Tuono V4 R ABS aPRC arrive September 2014. MSRP is listed at $14,499 (the same as the previous model year) and available colorways are Matte White and Matte Black.

Edpix..... Your asking for a Yamaha FZ1. I have a Brutale 1090, and added a little screen for long distance at higher speed.

Love the engine and chassis but HATE the styling and THATS a stopper for me. At least have upscale paint like MV not just flat paint options and while they're at it the aprilia "logo" in the rectangular box looks more like a warning label than a stylistic feature. I like the RSV4's fairing and would prefer that style fairing and the RSV4's paint from the 2013-14 factory edition but would like the higher bars and thrown in more wind protection and THAT would be the bike I buy.

Wow, the 1st Tuono that doesn't gag me with its styling. The others looked like Aprillia's styling department went to Manny, Moe, & Jacks (Auto parts store) and bought every thing they could glue or screw on, making sure nothing matched anything else.
