2010 Ducati 1198R Corse Edition. Not much changed but she sure is pretty!
Another eye-catching beauty in the Ducati
booth at the Milan show is the new 1198R Corse Edition. With the 2009 Troy Bayliss-replica 1098R no longer available, Ducati has released a new flagship Superbike and she’s a looker, no question.
Changes are minor and include an aluminum tank and (damn good looking) new graphics, plus it comes with a paddock stand and full Termignoni exhaust as well as a “desk plaque of authentication.”
This all may not sound like much, and… well, it really isn’t. But considering it has the same utterly amazing performance as the previous 1098R with some hot new colors and a slightly lighter tank, it’s hard not to have one’s jaw on the floor when looking at this beautiful machine. Trust me, I’ve ridden the 1098R and it’s still one of my all-time favorites. And now it got even better looking...
Looks just as beautiful from the rear.
Price has yet to be announced, but expect it will be well into the $40,000-range, as the previous model was $43G and this one sees some minor updates.
For ’10 the Superbike family also gets an 1198S Corse Edition as well an 848 Superbike in a Matte Black finish, specially priced at only $12,995.
Stay tuned for more details on these as they become available or as we’re able to swing a leg over and put them to the test!
