2014 Honda Street Bike First Looks

Monday, November 4, 2013
While Honda’s CTX1300 and CBR1000RR SP were the big announcements in Big Red’s 2014 motorcycle line-up, a few existing models also receive upgrades and a number of mounts come in fresh new colors for the new model-year.

"Whether you're a new rider or an experienced enthusiast, this announcement of new street models offers something exciting for you," said Honda Press Manager Bill Savino. "Over the course of the last two years, Honda has introduced many exciting new models across all segments, and we will continue to strengthen our model line-up as evidenced by this announcement.

"First, there's the all-new CTX1300, the next extension of the CTX series. This big-displacement V-4 CTX1300 carries the same family emphasis on class-leading comfort, new technology, easy-to-operate features and remarkable versatility as the 700s released earlier this year, but packs an extra dose of features and performance.

"We're also unveiling the CBR1000RR SP, which we know track riders will find very appealing. Add to that many favorites returning to the line for 2014, including the iconic Gold Wing and cool F6B, and it's clear that Honda continues to lead the way with innovative new products and returning options for consumers in all segments of the market."

The standard CBR1000RR gets a revised cylinder head, exhaust and intake for more punch. Ergonomics are altered as well, with repositioned handlebars and footpegs giving the rider a more aggressive position on the bike. Price is yet to be determined. Honda indicates the new CBR1000RR will be available February 2014.

The NC700X gets adjustable levers and instrumentation enhancements including a gear indicator, fuel consumption, MPG and miles to empty displays. The NC700X will also be available in black in 2014. Price is TBD and the new mount is expected in dealers by January 2014.

The Gold Wing remains technically unchanged for 2014, but receives new color options including Candy Red, Pearl Blue and a blacked-out version. Price is listed from $23,990-$29550 and availability is set for January 2014.

The Gold Wing F6B remains unchanged as well, aside from a new Pearl Yellow colorway. Price is $19,999-$21,099 with the mount available by January 2014.

The line of CB500s (CB500X, CB500F and CBR500R) were all new for the 2013 model-year and will remain unchanged for 2014. New color options are on deck for the 500X (Pearl White) and the 500R (Pearl White/Red/Blue). MSRP for the 500X and 500R is $5999-$6499 while the 500F lists at $5499-$5999. All three will hit dealerships by January 2014.

Honda’s naked CB1000R comes in a new Matte Gray Metallic with gold stripe and gold wheels color option. Price is TBD and availability is listed for January 2014.

The CBR600R remains unchanged for 2014 and will be available from $11,490-$12,490 by March 2014. Honda’s Ruckus and Metropolitan scooters also hold steady in 2014, though the Metropolitan comes in a range of new colors including Candy Orange/Pearl Black, Pearl Blue/Pearl Black and Pink Metallic/Pearl White. No price is listed yet for either scooter and both will hit dealerships by February 2014.
