Larry Pegram was born in Columbus, Ohio and has been racing as a professional since 1988. Pegram grew up on the dirt tracks of America before entering the roadracing scene. After joining the FBF Ducati squad in 1999 he won his first superbike race at Willow Springs on the way to a fifth-place finish in the championship. 

In his 10th season in AMA Superbike Pegram finished 10th during the 2006 championship as a privateer Honda rider. However, the best result in his Superbike career took place during the 1999 season when he finished fifth overall.

In '07 Pegram was equipped with a Ducati 749R in the Formula Xtreme class. He rode to a fourth-place finish in the series, and went on to duplicate the result the following year.

In 2009 Pegram was back racing in AMA Superbike, this time aboard his own team formed in conjunction with Foremost Insurance. He claimed fourth overall after winning three races and making two more podium appearances.

In 2010 Pegram produced another strong season by taking fourth again in the championship. With one win and another five podium finishes, Pegram posted his fourth consecutive season as a top-five finisher in AMA Superbike.  

For 2011 Pegram has split ties with Ducati and will be racing a BMW S1000RR with Foremost Insurance/Pegram Racing.
