A native of Wales, Chaz Davies began his early motorcycle racing career competing in the British Mini Moto series. The youngster conquered the series for three straight years before advancing to Junior Road Racing in 1999. In the same year 12-year-old Davies also competed in the Aprilia 125cc Championship. The Brit soon made a name for himself in the 125 series, and in 2000 Davies placed second in the division. Determined to forge a professional racing career, he became a well-known fixture in the AMA Formula Xtreme championship prior to moving into the AMA Supersport series in 2008.

Davies' 2008 season started off with a bang as he won the Daytona 200 with his teammate, Steve Rapp, finishing runner-up. Afterward Davies left Kawasaki to join the Factory Aprilia Millenium Technologies Team for 2009, racing the AMA Pro Daytona SportBike division on the Aprilia RSV1000R. He had roller-coaster results with his best performances netting two second-place finishes. Davies then competed briefly in World Supersport during 2009, racing with ParkinGO Triumph and earning a top-five finish at Imola.

In 2010 Davies improved significantly and posted one of his best seasons yet. He finished on the podium four times throughout the season and had top-five results in nearly every race. Taking fourth overall in the standings, Davies found major success with the Triumph team.

After winning the 2011 World Supersport Championship, Davies moved up to World Superbike to ride for ParkinGO MTC Racing aboard an Aprilia RSV4. The start of his season was markedly rough, with three DNFs and a 14th place finish through the first four races. Things picked up as the season progressed though, and he eventually found his pace earning four podiums and a race win at Nurburgring. He finished the year in ninth overall.

For 2013 Davies joins Marco Melandri on the BMW Motorrad GoldBet SBK team.
