New Vespa Primavera Teased at EICMA 2013

Monday, November 4, 2013
Vespa teased details on its newest scooter for 2014, the Primavera, during the opening day of the 2013 EICMA show in Milan, Italy. The inspiration, and name, is drawn from Vespa’s popular 1968 model-year Primavera. The specification information is limited, with company press stating that the new Primavera boasts a “radically new design, a new body in steel” and “new sizes.” The promised sizes are two and four-stroke 50cc as well as a three-valve 125cc and 150cc. There’s no indication yet as to which sizes will be available in North America.

Vespa made a similar announcement at the EICMA show in 2012 when it revealed a revamped version of its 1946 MP6 prototype, the 946. The classic model revision formula appears to have paid off, with Vespa touting a 21% growth in sales over the first nine months of 2013. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
