Limited run editions are an annual occurrence when the new model years roll out. The Ronax 500 2-Stroke
, Suzuki’s shiny 50th Anniversary GSX-R1000 SE
, Kawasaki’s 30th Anniversary Ninjas
, Ducati’s Superleggera
, MV Agusta’s F3 800 AGO
…the list goes on. One of the latest models to receive the special edition treatment is Vespa’s 946 scooter, with the Italian scooter marque announcing production of a Bellissima version, limited to just 100 units.
Vespa first announced the forthcoming release of its 946 at EICMA in 2012, with styling inspired by the company’s Mp6 prototype of 1946. Despite its nostalgic heritage it was a machine complete with up-to-date technology, including a newly designed three-valve Single with EFI, and electronic goodies included traction control and ABS.
Vespa retains all the features of the 946 in the Bellissima edition, but swaps the stock perch for a mono-seat and adds a chrome-plated rear rack, new paint and rim colors as well as an updated handlebar grip finish. Buyers will also receive a passenger seat kit, so riding two-up can remain an option.
Despite the updates, the Bellissima edition MSRP remains the same as the standard 2014 946 at $10,499.
