Miguel in action - Daytona 2005
Rider: Miguel Duhamel
Nationality: Canadian
Team: Retired
Machine: N/A (#17)
Born: May 26, 1968 in LaSalle, Canada
Miguel Duhamel is arguably the greatest rider to ever grace a circuit on any level. The likable Canuck was winning races and winning titles while some of his current competition where still potty training. He has more wins in Superbike than any other AMA rider (23 wins and a six race winning streak that is still unbeaten as of 2001) to go along with his AMA Superbike Championship in 1995 (Oh, he won the 600SS title that year as well). In 600 Supersport he has been just as dominant with 5 Championships and 40 total wins as of the 2001 season.

His 10 race 600SS winning streak may never be matched. There are only two men who have so far dominated the great race at Daytona and Miguel is one of them. With three Daytona Superbike wins to his credit, a number of second place finishes and 600 victories as well, he is always a threat to win on that track.

Miguel Duhamel plants one on his 5th Daytona 200 winners trophy.
Miguel Duhamel celebrates his 5th Daytona 200 win. He is tied with Scott Russell for most Daytona 200 wins at five.
Duhamel is the ageless wonder of AMA SB. Everyone keeps expecting the 39-year-old to start pulling up lame and letting the youngsters take over, but Miggy keeps on truckin. Duhamel got his 2006 season off to a raucous start when he crashed out of the Daytona 200 lead and, even though he landed on his head, finished the race in the top-5 with his scuffed up Honda. Duhamel followed up that courageous result with a host of podiums, playing third fiddle to the Yoshimura duo of Spies and Mladin in the overall results. Maybe 2007 will be the season that Duhamel starts slowing down, but we're not betting on it. With all of his experience, you can pencil in the Honda vet for at least a couple '07 podiums. Duhamel is also a favorite for the Daytona 200.
