NOHVCC's Dan Kleen and Russ Ehnes Appointed to Advisory Board of the All-Terrain Quad Council of Canada

The All-Terrain Quad Council of Canada recently welcomed Americans Dan Kleen and Russ Ehnes to their Advisory Board of Directors. The AQCC is Canada's version of the United States' SVIA. Kleen is the current President of the NOHVCC Board of Directors and Ehnes is the Executive Director of the NOHVCC.

"This collaboration will give like minded people on both sides of the border the opportunity to strategize together on ATV challenges, as well as share resources that have been already developed, allowing all of us to put more dollars into programs that have not been worked on yet," says Wayne Daub, Secretary Treasurer of AQCC. "This is a huge step forward for Canada, to be able to work with the NOHVCC in this capacity. We are also looking forward to attending their conference in March."

The Canadian OHV Distributors Council (COHV) is the umbrella group for the national organizations, the All-Terrain Quad Council of Canada and the Motorcyclists Confederation of Canada, which all have ties to the NOHVCC. Late last year the NOHVCC and the COHV signed a Memorandum of Understanding that the two organizations would work together to to further a positive future for responsible off-highway vehicle recreation in North America.

U.S. Senate poised to shut Off-Highway Vehicles out of more than 1 million acres of public land
Find out what you can do to help

The U.S. Senate is poised to act as early as Sunday on a massive package of public lands bills that would shut motorcyclists out of more than 1 million acres without adequate public comment, the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) reports.

The last-minute move just as the newly elected Congress takes over has raised the ire of the AMA and at least one congressman, who believe the proposal and process deserve more public participation. Read more>>

JOE VANCE RETIRES FROM THE NOHVCC
After 11 years as Transportation Coordinator, Vance hangs up his driving gloves

Joe Vance of Teton, Idaho began his career with the National Off-Highway Vehicle Conservation Council in December of 1997 as a volunteer. His first trip was to American Honda in California to pick up the 18-wheeler semi-truck that Honda had recently donated to the NOHVCC. The truck was part of a push by the Board of Directors to give the NOHVCC more national exposure.

Throughout the next decade, Joe and the semi criss-crossed America's "spacious skies and amber waves of grain", stopping off at major OHV events along the way. The NOHVCC semi was eventually outfitted with the first version of the Adventure Trail, which evolved into the final creation that saw action over the last several years.
