I'm glad that a few companies aren't giving up on the 2-smoke. Strange that they dropped the displacement but then again if those last scenes are any indicator, it looks nimble as a cat. That exhaust note when you get on the pipe reminds me of a 125. Neat bike, nice test.
thewall - Good bye 200  September 9, 2009 06:43 PM
Glad you guys are finally getting to review some KTM's (I'm pretty sure it's KTM and not MCUSA that has been the culprit there). I've owned the 200XC and now the 250XCW. I was surprised to see the 200 go. It's a great bike and definitely you can feel the difference in size between it and the 250. I really enjoyed it. The 250 is much much more luggable though and still handles great. Maybe that was KTM’s reason to drop the 200 and go even smaller displacement with a woods bike. To make a bike that was truly discernable from the next step in displacement. It didn't seem like you got a lot of time on it but good review. I think the 150 will be great in tight woods with good traction conditions. I think when traction gets iffy (especially on hill climbs) people will find it hard to ride compared to the bigger 2t's where you can lug more to help keep the wheel from spinning. Love KTM's willingness to make so many models. That is why I keep buying their bikes. They are great bikes and they definitely make one that suits your riding style and conditions.

Tight woods? That stuff looks wide open and smooth compared to what we have here in new england! Nice bike, though! The 200 will be missed!
