Some KTM employees will work
less hours.
The bad economy has taken a toll on everyone, and KTM is no different. A report in the Austrian Times indicates that the Austrian motorcycle and ATV manufacturer will put almost 50% of its employees into part-time status beginning in May. The reduction in working hours will last until August. Apparently KTM won’t discriminate against who gets curtailed with the 733 affected employees coming from all ranges of the company structure.

The move will result in a total loss of two months of production. The article also notes capital investment by CROSS Industries AG and Bajaj Auto International Holdings B.V which snagged newly available shares. KTM press releases confirm that Bajaj and Cross have increased their shares and voting rights to 31.7% and 48.5%, respectively.
