charged his KTM to another victory during Round 2 of IEWC in Genoa.
KTM’s Taddy Blazusiak took another victory during Round 2 of the Indoor Enduro World Championship series in Genoa with current IEWC title holder, Ivan Cervantes, in second. Joakim Ljunggren placing third-overall.

Blazusiak earned the maximum points scored during this event despite a small crash in Heat 2 that initially left him in seventh before catching Cervantes on the final lap. After the race, the Polish rider said, “I didn’t feel that good during the first practice session but I soon got into things and, well, everything worked out perfectly. I was really struggling with all of the right hand corners because I didn’t want to put my foot down.” Blazusiak suffered a small crash in the final round of U.S. EnduroCross in late-November hurting his right knee.

“One thing that helped me again was my starts. I had a great start in the first race and got the holeshot, but I accelerated too hard out of the gate in the second race, lost traction and paid the price. But I knew that if I didn’t make any other mistakes I’d be able to get to the front, which I did. Then the third final went well again so I won all three races like I did in Sheffield,” remarked an excited Blazusiak.

Competing in his third-ever indoor enduro race, Ljunggren pushed his Husaberg all evening to ensure his third-overall spot on the podium. The Swede said, ““Taddy was incredibly fast all night but I really felt that I was as good as any of

the other riders. I didn’t make any mistakes in any of the finals, and was really pleased with my speed. I’m really enjoying the indoor events and although I don’t have as much experience as some of the riders I feel like things are going really well for my first year. This is only my third indoor enduro race after Sheffield and Las Vegas so this is a great result for Husaberg.”

Ljunggren credits his success, in part, to time spent training with Blazusiak in the U.S. during the final round of American EnduroCross. “I really learned a lot, just little things mainly but things that will help me improve. Although the event in Vegas didn’t go so well, although I won the night race, I learned a lot, which I think is already helping me,” said Ljunggren.

Two rounds remain in the World Cup series with both held in Spain on January 9th and 30th, 2010.
