Too bad this didn't come out a few months later as different tires have totally eliminated the Connie's handling shortcomings. next test the Connie will be the clear winner, especially with the KTRAC traction control.

I find that your articles and short videos are some of the best on the net. And since you guys are in Oregon it's even better. I live up here in Hermiston but i'm from Medford and is great to see you guys show our state and the great mororcycles you guys get to ride for free. We have a lot of sunshine over here but the temp is sometimes to freekin cold, ride to live, live to ride. Keep up the great work. Maybe some time you can come over to the East side and do some videos.
Andy S. - Real World II  November 17, 2009 07:13 AM
The other real-world consideration is lighting. Don't you California guys ride at night? Often even a day trip meets with unexpected delays or traffic and results in a night ride. A motorcycle's headlights can be adequate or even good on the interstates, but can be miserable in the twisties. A bright, wide swath of light angled 30-45 degrees from the horizontal illuminates the treeline and parts of the road that are irrelevant. Yet, there is no mention of night time illumination. It is life and death, yet is also a non-issue, apparently. Oh, the engine performance, handling, etc. are great to know, and nice to haves, but the bike I'll buy is the one that I can reach the ground on and can paddle around. If I can figure out which one has the better lights, it will serve to break a tie.
Andy S. - Price is an object. Real world concerns.  November 17, 2009 07:03 AM
Why not include lower cost options and "losers" such as the BMW R1200RT and the Honda ST1300? They may cost less and even though you may not like these bikes, others may. For instance, I'm considering the R1200RT for its lighter weight. It's great to be like an eagle or a peregrin on the road. But it's awful to be a walrus or upside down turtle in the parking lot. Real world concerns for real world riders. Also, I'm short. Please have women and short testers on your staff.
