The Love Cub 50 art exhibition celebrated a design that has sold 60 million unit in its 50 year history.
Fans of the
Honda Super Cub have turned loyal fascination into legitimate works of art, with the Love Cub 50 Project. And not works of art in the flighty personal sense, but official, on-display, people-paying-money-to-see it art!
The Love Cub 50 Project ran at the Mori Arts Center Gallery from June 26 to July 5. The exhibition featured designs of more than 60 entries. Included in the list of participants are numerous Japanese actors, artists and athletes.

According to a press release issued by Honda regarding the event, sales of the exhibition’s guide book and proceeds from the unveiling event will be donated to UNICEF.
In continuous production for the past 50 years, the Honda Cub passed the 60 million cumulative sales threshold in April of 2008. For more information on Honda’s most iconic model, check out the quirky, but really fun, official website:

On top of pushing an inconic motorcycle design into official art status, the show at the Mori Arts Center Gallery also raised money for UNICEF.
