2010 Honda Elite 150I scooter....where is the battery located???
SchnBait -Quality  August 5, 2010 11:38 AM
I have 1984 Honda Elite 125. The stupid thing is 26 freaking years old and runs like a champ. It has suffered horrific abuse and seems to be unphased. It still looks and runs great. That said, this bike is probably worth the money. I'll take my 26 year old honda over a brand new chinese scooter any day.
CW4 Army Guy -Honda 110 Elite I bought one and most of you are all wrong  May 14, 2010 03:27 AM
Lotta speculation on this website about the Honda 110 Elite,I bought one new 2800 TTL put 300 miles on it the first week MMM nice.I own currently P200E Vespaw/side car,63Vespa 150 Alstate Crusiare 125(Vespa)Yamaha V Star, and for 10 years I had an 80 Elite and 2 years a Honda 250 Elite. My 110 Elite is superb. I will sell many of the others soon. Im 62,and want to relax, no gears.
I bought the Elite after checking out the market,Chinese,Italian 150S Vespa, and others. It may be made in China, but Honda finish and quality is superb. I can stop quickly from 50, its is lighweight, no heat comming off the engine, when you cruise the injection is wonderful, smothe as velvet, no choppy carburator ride. Only negative is subfreeway, the CDI cuts you off at 53mph. How do I get a CDI Box so I can get 65mph where are the experts. I recommend it to anyone I am satisfied with it.
Llamas -Just right.  May 11, 2010 07:35 PM
This isn't about the Elite, and I apologize. I had to chime in here, though. A year has elapsed since the last post, and I had to confirm a few of the things above. I paid $4000 for my new SH150i, so yes, dealers are negotiating, and so I suspect they're not selling like hotcakes. I am definitely someone with zero interest in motorcycles - they weren't even part of the equation. With that in mind, the SH150i was the perfect choice for me. It came down to Chinese crap, Vespa hype, or a nice, solid Honda. It's a brilliant machine, and I don't think I overpaid a dime. I'll take my 90mpg, and y'all can keep your flimsy Kymcos.
Mr Thompson -Lighting?  January 31, 2010 02:31 PM
Not bought one yet ...but was wandering if anybody rides at night and how is the lighting?
I go to work in the dark and would need good lighting since i have lots of deer in the country.
Thanks for any comments.

where is battery box and how do you open it
CK from San Francisco -Good Scooter but need little bit of work  January 12, 2010 05:42 PM
Couple of Months ago I brought this Honda Elite 2010 scooter. Well I am being very honest, It just impressed me. Awesome Mileage when you ride between 30 to 35 mph on a flat road. I get around 120 - 130 Miles for 1.3 gallons. Under seat space just fantastic. I carry groceries without any issues. Its definitely a great fit for me. Now coming to smoothness, I would rate it 6 in scale of 10, I am constantly getting noise on both wheels even after the first service is over its not been fixed. But its priced way too much. 2000 Dollars is the best price you can pay for it
Raj -Reg. Elite in India  November 27, 2009 11:28 AM
Already Honda pricing is costly in India, Alternate TVS has comeup with WEGO which has rear Gas Shoks, But TVS WEGO comes with Front Disk breaks Honda's Gearless scotter market will go down down the line. But Honda just for Trial basis they have launched Aviator in India 2 years ago, The Flop side is They donot provide Front Boot Lock Storage Space which is standard expectation for Indian Customers. All the stunts will be there for few years [Since AARI ] has its influence with Vehicle manucaturers and vice versa, Product of company A during non-production the other company will release. IT is just Brand who provide you service [ Called honda / Suzuki / TVS / Bajaj / Mahindra / Kinetic etc ] To make more profit for Indian Company all the Manufacturers may not sell same type of vehicle. Example : When HEROHONDA has Clutchless vehicle [ Street ] No vendor in India Sold that model, Prior to that BAJAJ has M50/M80/M100/BKE when they stop the vehicle , Then TVS Manufactured that vehicle for Indonesia market , When they stop there they Entry in India telling that First Motorcycle with Clutch less Motorbike. As per vendors Indicator change is model change , Feul tank change is another model etc. But the Engine Technology will remain the same. No one Says They have come up vehicle without Gas / Electricity. All it is for Money Gambling game, Just playing and goofing up Clients/Customers.
jyoti -available in india?  September 13, 2009 10:10 PM

spider211 -Honda Elite  September 1, 2009 07:23 PM
Dr. Harry, Was wondering how much did you pay OTD? Was told $3571 OTD.
Dr. Harry -Honda Elite 110  August 29, 2009 06:33 PM
Bought one in Black. It runs like a gem and worth the price. I was told that even though it was built in China the factory is run by Honda to keep quality up. I can only say that mine is built well assembled as good as anything from Japan or Italy. Braking is wonderful. You can stop very quick from 45-50mph to zero almost instantly due to front disc brake. For the person that posted that braking is done on the rear wheel you are mistaken or you have never taken a physics course. I only have 100 miles on the Elite and so far I can not say anything bad about it. I would highly recommend this scooter. I know you can get a Kymco for less money but you get what you pay for and when you go to resell you will get substantially less. I did consider the SH150i but in the end it was not worth the extra $1500.
Johnson -2010 Elite  August 23, 2009 07:54 PM
Took my new Elite home last week. This thing is a rocket compared to the 50cc Zuma I had before. I've had it up to 55 MPH with more still available (won't test the top end until after break in). I've had it out on 45 MPH city 4-lanes and comfortably kept pace with traffic. Certainly good enough for me around town. The acceleration from a stop is surprising for a scooter this size. Huge under seat storage. Comfort, power, speed. Really nice machine. Downside - it's made in China, land of crappy products and human rights abuses. But, in this case, reputable dealer + Honda name = likely satisfaction.
Don -Honda base price  July 22, 2009 02:03 AM
Maybe I'm missing something, but Honda lists the base price at $2999 on their own Powersports site.
Greg -Honda Scooters ( $ Ouch )  July 13, 2009 01:13 PM
I would have loved to have gotten a SH150i, but Honda is living in a fairy tale land with their pricing! Ended up just getting a Kymco Super 8 150 (foot room poor,Gas tank too small) but still like it alot. It handles fabulous! Let's say Honda has a better engine +$300, better build +$300, Honda Name +$500 = $1100 + $2300(Kymco) = $3400 and Honda wants $4500 they, can just keep it on their show-room floor as far as I am concerned.
ROGM -2010 Honda Elite!  June 26, 2009 08:52 PM
If this Scooter was around before I bought my Honda Ruckus, I would have chosen the Elite instead of the Ruckus! I Love my Ruckus to Death, but I wish it had more Power!
C. Thomas -U.S. Picing for Honda 2010 Elite  June 24, 2009 10:10 AM
The 2010 Honda Elite is overpriced, even if it is a Honda. They did the same overpricing on the SH150i and according to a friend of mine who works at the local Honda dealer, the SH's are not moving. Both the SH150i and the 2010 Elite are overpriced around 500.00. It seems like Honda picks a fair/competitive market price and then adds 500.00 for some odd reason. I my opinion, this hampers the new models in getting out onto the streets initially, which can't be a good thing. I smell discounts/negotiation coming on these new Honda's.
2cold2ride!! -Honda Lead 110  June 18, 2009 05:02 PM
I had an earlier Honda Lead 100 (air cooled, carb, front drum...). On any vehicle, the most braking is done with the brake closest to the centre of gravity. On a scooter, this is usually the back brake. With my Lead, I did most of my braking with the rear brake, coz the front was useless. With 10" wheels, a disc would have been superfluous, anyway. However, the NEW Lead has a 12" front wheel AND a disc, so braking should be about equal. According to French tests I have translated, the new Lead is quieter, smoother, and faster, than the old Lead., while getting EVEN better economy due to EFi. I used to get 135 mpg from mine... Just a pity I couldn't go 10 mph faster to go on the motorway into the city. The new Lead might just stretch that far. All good Honda quality, wherever it's made.
bikerrandy -2010 Honda Elite scooter  June 12, 2009 05:26 PM
Ms. Brown, just because a rear brake is drum instead of disc doesn't mean it's a POS. There is nothing wrong with a drum rear brake. Most your stopping power is done with the front brake anyway. I've had many motorcycles with drum rear brakes and never once did I ever have to do anything to maintain it. If a person relies on their rear brake a lot for stopping, they don't know how to ride. When you stop all your weight shifts forward, therefore that is why the front brake is the most important part of stopping.
Terry -Hondas and scooters  May 18, 2009 08:41 AM
I currently own a Honda scooter (a Reflex) and it is my 8th scooter (I'm 50yrs young)and I would not buy a motorcycle, don't like the look or lack of styling, not to mention the higher center of gravity and less protection for your feet and legs offered by motorcycles. I'll continue to ride and enjoy scooters, Italians or Japanese or even an american maybe one day but not a motorcycle. Its a matter of cool ! Terry
Mr. White -re: Ms. Brown  May 12, 2009 06:27 PM
Scooters offer a different experience than motorcycles, more storage, more agility for city streets, and easier parking. Prople who buy them don't want a motorcycle. So maybe Honda scooters are overpriced, but there are myriad reasons to buy a scooter. I happen to like both scooters and motorcycles, and I'd buy either one if it fit my needs.
x2468 -50cc+???  May 10, 2009 11:37 PM
don't you need an MC license for anything over 50cc???
Mr.Black -Honda Elite  May 10, 2009 06:38 PM
I see a disc brake on the front.
Ms. Brown-Forgot -Oops  May 9, 2009 10:57 AM
I forgot: fuel injection, two seater, helmet room and 150cc for less than 3K would be nice. Honda Honda Honda: People you are competing against the motorcycle industry. Which is overloaded with choices. Why would a grown man or woman want a scooter 150cc (3K) with drum brakes, no room, carb, crap warranty when they can spend a grand less and get a 250cc motorcycle ALL DAY LONG OR a $500 more and get a brand new motorcycle or dual purpose? LOGIC? I don't have an engineering degree. Actually, I am a teacher---I don't have a business degree..I study the market. Common sense people. Ben always said: common sense is too often not that common. :(
Ms. Brown -How Much?  May 9, 2009 10:52 AM
My guess: $3700. Thanks Honda. When are they going to get it? Yes. We like the 4 stroke and the liquid cool. We don't like the drum brakes, the pricing and the crappy warranty. The warranty is out by the time the first break in period elapses. In this market it simply is not safe for a business to think brand name will sell a product. Ask Toyota. As an avid scooter diva... I defy the market gurus: I am not white, young, educated and I love love love scooting and bicycling. I compare the Hondas, Yammies and Suzies to the Chinese stranglehold and frankly---ya'll need to call me. You are missing the boat!!!!!!
