British Rider Penalty? Sweet Tooth!

Tuesday, June 30, 2009
It is hard to admit that this piece of anti-bike news comes from the UK… It was recently reported that a 19-year-old motorcyclist was electronically tagged for four months, given 36 hours of community work and ordered to pay £50 costs, (he had a clean record before as well) after being convicted of a riding offence!

Given such information you may think he had stolen a bike, knifed somebody or ridden dangerously. His crime was actually that he did not do up his pocket and some ‘mint imperial’ sweets fell out onto the road as he was riding along. The trail was followed by police who then arrested him for causing danger by dropping sweets.

Pity they did not do the same for lorry drivers who spill diesel all over the road and cause real danger!

Haha! This has to be a joke! The UK gets dumber each day.
