Teasley Going Green with Coby Adams

Tuesday, March 03, 2009
Reigning AMA Dragbike Real Street champion Jeremy Teasley is stepping into the saddle of Coby Adams’ Monster Kawasaki ZX14 to race Help Me Ride Financing Super Street this season, and will also pilot a Muzzy’s backed ZX14 in Dragbike.com Supersport. Kawasaki superstar Rickey Gadson’s move up to the Pro Street class opened the door for lightweight teenage jockey Teasley to ride the Super Street ‘14 that Gadson campaigned last year.

“This will be our year to produce multiple championships for Kawasaki, Adams Performance, Muzzy’s, and Monster Energy,” said Adams. “We have been blessed here at Adams Performance to have some of the greatest riders on the planet aboard our bikes, riders like Chip Ellis, Johnny Locklear, Ryan Schnitz, and Rickey Gadson. This legacy continues with Jeremy Teasley. Jeremy is so full of talent and so humble. His attitude and desire to win is the combination we like to have around here, and we’re really excited to see how this season goes.”

That excitement began when Adams Performance’s Garron Miller took the turbocharged ’14 to Rockingham Dragway last November for Teasley to test. “Jeremy ran a 7.70 at 193 mph on his third pass,” said an obviously impressed Miller. “And the bike wasn’t set up aggressive at all.”

“Garron was so excited to see how soon Jeremy went so fast,” said Adams. “And the gears were set in motion to put Jeremy on the ’14 for ’09. He’ll be a major force and the one everyone will be gunning for in Super Street. He’ll also be piloting an ‘09 ZX14 in Supersport with Muzzy support. Rob Muzzy has stepped up with his amazing products and desire to be with the best talent in the sport.”

“I would just like to thank Coby and Garron for the opportunity to ride for them this season,” said Teasley, a notoriously quiet young man who lets his on-track performance do all the talking. “I think we’ll be contenders for both championships this year.”

The 2009 AMA Dragbike season starts this weekend, March 7 and 8, with the B&B Promotions Bike Week Nationals at South Georgia Motorsports Park in Valdosta, Georgia.
