James Stewart and Yamaha win the 2009 Rockstar Energy Drink US Open.
James Stewart and his team will have a little more green in their pockets after winning the 2009 U.S. Open.
History repeated itself as James Stewart returned Saturday to take the win and the $100,000 prize of the 10th annual 2009 Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open. Newly returned Kawasaki rider, Ryan Villopoto finished second with Honda ace Davi Millisaps taking the final spot atop the podium.

In the main 20-lap event, the winner of the holeshot was Honda's Dan Reardon while Stewart, who got a poor start, fell back into the pack. Villopoto passed Reardon on Lap 1 and took the lead as Stewart started his campaign for the front. On Lap 10, Stewart flew past Villopoto and never looked back.

Finishing in fourth behind Villopoto and Millisaps was Reardon with Suzuki's Michael Byrne rounding out the top-five.

After the race, Stewart commented on the win, "“It was a fun race. I didn’t get the start that I wanted but I got the job done. The money is one thing but our team works really hard so this is rewarding for them. I was able to put in some really strong laps after I made my way around (Dan) Reardon.”

Where was Chad "The Scrub" Reed? Was he at home hiding from real talent? I bet he was afraid to get smoked by a young kid named Villopoto!
