Geico Powersports and Supercross Lites rider Trey Canard will fill-in for injured Honda Red Bull team rider, Andrew Short aboard his 2010
Honda CRF450R during select East Coast
Supercross rounds. Short, broke his foot during the 450 race last weekend in San Diego and is expected to be out for the remainder of the season, opening the door for Canard.
“I am extremely honored and grateful to American Honda for this opportunity,” said Canard, “and I would like to thank Rick Zielfelder and Jeff Majkrzak, owners of the GEICO Powersports Honda team, for allowing me to take advantage of this great opportunity to see what I can do on a Honda 450 in the Supercross class.”
Canard, who currently sits second in the Supercross Lites Championship, will be racing his 2010 Honda CRF250R for the last time this weekend in Anaheim before jumping onto the big bike for the East Coast races. Canard will then return to the Lites Championship in Seattle, then again during the East/West showdown in Las Vegas.
