You meet all kinds of interesting people at international competitions.
One of the great things about the
ISDE is the opportunity to meet dirt bike riders from all over the world. The atmosphere is such that almost everyone is accessible, even the world champion level riders can be found hanging out in the pit area talking with spectators and fellow riders. Often it is just as interesting to get to know the club riders and enthusiasts who attend the event. People from all over the world follow the various forms of off road racing in the US and I am always surprised that people want to talk about the results from the latest round of
GNCC or National Enduro. Yet it is one of the many “slice of life” experiences that makes the Six Days so unique. Here is an email that I received from an enthusiast in Portugal who would like to meet up at the event. He also sent along some great links about the area.
Hi Chilly,
I'm petrus (real name is Pedro) and I live in Portugal. A bit far from Figueira da Foz, but I will be there, at least a few days. Not as a racer, but just to watch (even if I'll bring my bike with me).
If you want, we'll have the oportunity to meet each other, drink a few bears, talk...
If possible, bring me one of your amazing shirts, my size is XL.
About what you will find in Six Days, get ready for sand. I'm not saying that the entire 6 Days will be sand, because it will not, but you will find plenty and you will ride close to the sea. According to my sources, it will be very challenging and technical (tons or rocks too)!

Pista do Casarão Águeda (mx track) – The last day will end here. I can imagine that they will do some mods on the track because it is a pure mx track!

If I can help, feel free to ask! Even questions about the weather, the food...
One last thing. I don't know if it is possible or not but I hope you don't mind if I ask!
My bike (08' 450) needs a new cam tensioner and the OEM is defective, As far as I know the solution is the Dirt tricks tensioner, but sending it from USA force me to pay taxes. Do you think it is achievable you bring it to me? It's small and light...
Regards and sorry for disturb you,
