Five down, one to go.
Day 5 is now in the books. Today brought some easier course, but the mileage was longer and the time schedule was faster. We were running though lots of little towns and there were numerous road crossings, so with the faster time schedule was a little difficult to keep up with while still trying to negotiate traffic and keep everything safe. Basically

Chilly White rolls up to the start of the very first special test of the day.
we were racing down country roads all day.
Other than that everything went well for me. My special test times slipped a little. My arms are pretty worn out and it is hard to charge through the rough sections of the tests. I am sitting 46th in the C2 class, just inside the top half. My club team, Jafmar Racing, is in 17th out of about 90 club teams, so that is pretty respectable. I had hoped to be able to challenge my teammate Jeff Fredette this year, but he just keeps gapping me every day. So good for him, just last week he finished 13th overall in the National Enduro.
For Day 6 we have about 50 miles of trail and then the final moto. Once we are all done with the motos we have to ride about 40 miles of road to get back here to Figueira da Foz and then get everything packed back into the container by evening. So it will end up being another long day. Hopefully I can get some rest on Sunday.
