Xerox Ducati - Portimao Test
Ducati's World Superbike team will see a new manager for 2010.
Word out of Italy is the Ducati Corse racing department is in total chaos today. As announced earlier this week, MotoGP team manager Livio Suppo was let go, being replaced by current GP test rider Vittoriano Guareschi. Suppo is said to be going to HRC (Honda’s racing division) for next season.

Adding fuel to the fire is that all the department contracts are up today and the big news is that World Superbike team manager Davide Tardozzi will be out of work at Ducati as well. No word yet as to whether this comes down from Ducati or was Tardozzi's choice.

Talk about a big shakeup. The former World Superbike racer has been with the Italian brand for well over a decade and led them to countless wins and more championships than any other brand in the paddock. Word is his replacement will be announced shortly.

Stay tuned as we will bring you more info as it comes available…

KM - Team Orders  November 11, 2009 06:54 PM
Here is the deal we all know that it is illegal to have team orders so if Fabrizio would have let haga win there wound have been questions. Second Ben Spies was the best thing to hit world Super Bike in years; he was the best hands down. Third ducati is cutting cost to pay the huge salary for Rossie who they are trying to get for the 2011 MotoGP season.

It was Fabrizio, not Lorenzo. Sorry for the MotoGP mixup.
SilverStreak - Ducati race strategy Blunder at Portimao  November 7, 2009 03:25 PM
Now I know what happened. Lorenzo won the battle at Portimao, but Ducati lost the war. With Nori Haga riding like a Banshee to 2nd place near the finish, Lorenzo should have let him pass to take the win, then fall back to 6th place to block Ben Spies. Ducati still wins the race and would have been a point or two of winning the Championship for Nori Haga. It was possible and worth trying. Most surprised of all was Ben Spies, because he kind of backed-in to win it. It was a fatal error for Ducati, and the team managers were fired.
