Joey Pascarella led a start to finish victory ahead of Huntley Nash in the first SuperSport contest at New Jersey.
Racing action at the New Jersey Motorsports Park got underway on Saturday with DNA Energy Drink Yamaha's Joey Pascarella securing a great start from pole position in the first SuperSport race. Pascarella went on to take a start to finish victory ahead of Yamaha’s Huntley Nash by more than four and a half seconds, with Eric Stump following in third and trailing the leader by more than six seconds.

Suffering an early crash in the race was Yamaha’s Miles Thornton. Travis Ohge also had a disappointing start at New Jersey after crashing out of seventh-place on Lap 12.

Stump was in second for the majority of the contest until Nash flew by him on Lap 12. Once into second-place, Nash began to slowly chip away at Pascarella’s nine-second advantage ahead of the field. His efforts came too late, however, and Pascarella was able to convert his front row start into a Race 1 victory. It was a solid start for Yamaha, who took four of the top-five positions. Austin Dehaven took the checkers in fourth and was 6.984 seconds behind Stump. Rounding out the top-five finishers was James Rispoli, who finished fifth and more than 13 seconds off the pace of Pascarella.

Huntley Nash #75 made a pass for second ahead of Eric Stump in the final half of the Race 1.
