Fiat Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo set the fastest time in Monday's test session by 0.575 seconds ahead of Ducati's Casey Stoner.
During post-race testing which had to be cut short due to inclement weather, Fiat
Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo topped the timesheets at Brno. The Yamaha ace was followed by
Ducati’s Casey Stoner and Repsol
Honda’s Dani Pedrosa.
The points-leading Lorenzo was focused on a new 2011 prototype of his M1 and in the afternoon did several laps with the new bike. Meanwhile, Stoner remained concentrated with the front forks on his Desmosedici GP10.
Fiat Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi and Monster Yamaha Tech 3’s Ben Spies were also hard at work on their machines. Rossi lapped fourth-fastest in the test and Spies sixth, with fellow Yamaha pilot Colin Edwards in between riding to the fifth-fastest time.
Pedrosa's teammate, Andrea Dovizioso, was eighth-fastest, with Suzuki’s Loris Capirossi and Ducati’s Nicky Hayden rounding out the top 10.
Frenchman Randy de Puniet was absent in testing at the Brno circuit in order to rest and prepare for the next round at Indianapolis.
